Start Smart SoccerStart Smart Soccer

Registration is open for our program sessions that begin April 13.  This program will meet every week, 45 minutes sessions, for 6 weeks at the Smithland Athletic Complex.  We will be accepting 16 participant pairs for this session.  To register online visit our Program Registration page, or you may call 540-433-9168 and register by phone.  This is currently open to city residents only with a registration fee of $30.  For additional information on the program, email Courtney.Carawan@harrisonburgva.gov or call the Athletics Office at 540-433-9168.  Sessions include:

Start Smart Soccer is a developmentally appropriate introductory soccer program for children 3-5 years old. The program prepares children for organized soccer in a fun, non-threatening environment. Start Smart Soccer prepares children and their parents for organized soccer without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Age appropriate equipment is used in teaching kicking, dribbling, trapping, throw ins and agility.    

 

 

Start Smart FootballStart Smart Football

The program prepares children for organized football in a fun, non-threatening environment. Start Smart Football prepares children and their parents for organized football without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Age appropriate equipment is used in teaching throwing, catching, kicking/punting and running/agility.   

 

 

Start Smart Sports DevelopmentStart Smart Sports Development - Coming Soon!

The Start Smart Sports Development Program was the first developed by the National Alliance for Youth Sports. The skills are not specific to any one particular sport. Skills learned and developed in this program will benefit the participants in a variety of sports. The popularity of this program led to the development of the sport-specific programs now offered. The is a developmentally appropriate introductory sports program for children 3-5 years old. The program prepares children and their parents for organized sports in a fun, non-threatening environment. Age appropriate equipment from is utilized in the program. Sports skills developed in this program are: throwing, catching, batting and kicking.

Start Smart Basketball is a developmentally appropriate introductory basketball program for children 3-5 years old. The program prepares children for organized basketball in a fun, non-threatening environment. Start Smart Basketball prepares children and their parents for organized basketball without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Age appropriate equipment is used in teaching dribbling/ball handling, passing/catching, shooting and running/agility.

 

 

SS BaseballStart Smart Baseball
